He's OK

Dad made it. Brain surgery is done. Dr. Weil was impressed with his stamina and ability and discipline to count back and forth to 100 many times during surgery! He was nearly in tears when he saw us post-op and exclaimed, "I'm so glad to be alive!"

Pathology report on the brain tumor comes back in a week ... we may be facing 15-20 footers. But Dad is determined and our love and the love and prayers from hundreds of others will keep him strong.

  3. Wow. I have checked this blog no less than 15 times today. I was thinking of you all day and checking checking worrying checking. I am glad to hear he made it out ok. I would expect no less from Bill. I still remember a time when I visited you at home and he was fixing my car for me. So you are right about that! Praying for good pathology...and I know what you mean about your Dad now being your Dad and your Mom. Oh the vulnerability.

  5. I just had lunch w/Joe, and we were talking about Bill. I was telling him about the time, Lisa, that we met your dad and Warner Hans (his "German cousin" who it turns out was a guy he met through work who had a common family surname) in Germany - and all the nice things your dad did for us on that trip. I couldn't remember whether Joe knew your dad beyond meeting him at a few weddings over the years. He said, not really, although your dad did one time give him a set of tires! I barely recall this, but Joe has a distinct memory of picking up 4 tires from your parents' house - back when we were first dating.

How many of your friends' cars do you think your dad has touched over the years? ;)
